Aug. 1, 2011 I had been wondering if John Kerry (D-MA) ever paid his sales taxes on his $7 million yacht. It seemed a shame he would try to scam his own state out of a half million dollars. He’s been pretty quiet since July 2010 when he was confronted. I know he promised to pay whatever the state said he owed, but did we ever find out if he owed anything; making good on his promise? No matter. What prompted the memory was a short article; parts of which that were posted to “The Weekly Standard” website under the title: “John Kerry's Swift Boat Defender Stripped of Medal” under the byline, Mark Hemingway, July 26, 2011. (Originally posted in the Navy Times) Actually found linked from “Politico” website. Anyway, it seems Senator Kerry’s “butt-buddy” (you might GOOGLE Jared Bernstein, MSNBC and “butt-buddy”), CPT Wade Sanders had his silver star taken away from him. It was determined that he had “improperly” received the medal. The “facts and evidence” for awarding the medal failed to hold up under a subsequent Navy investigation. CPT Sanders had further sullied his personal reputation by being arrested for child pornography. He is “currently in jail”. I’m sure none of this reflects badly on Senator Kerry. I sure the medal citations Senator Kerry wrote for himself would pass additional Navy scrutiny. But with all the support CPT Sanders gave Senator Kerry during the 2004 election cycle I would think Kerry would at least be kind enough to pony up a little bail money? Oh well. Mark Hemingway also bylined: “Rep. David Wu, D-Ore., Resigns Amid Another Sex Scandal”, 26 July 2011, (The Weekly Standard) where the key word here might have been “Another”. How Rep. Wu survived his other sex scandals is Nancy Pelosi’s secret. But, when you attempt to have sex with a teenager maybe that last line has been drawn. From the article: “Wu was recently divorced and he also revealed a history of mental health problems. The kicker, however, was recent reports that he had an improper sexual encounter with a teenage girl... [which he admitted was not “good judgment”]. So citing personal and family reasons Rep. Wu has decided to no longer embarrass the politically and morally corrupt, socialist side of congress. Mr. Wu might have jumped the gun but there is no liberal fear of losing Wu’s seat to a Republican. From the article: “Democrats are likely to retain Wu's seat in an upcoming special election. And Oregon Democrats can rest easy that Portland Mayor Sam Adams has survived two recall attempts after having a relationship with a (possibly underage!) teenager.” Oregonians can be proud of their “Democrat” label. Portland Democrats can be damn proud they were able to save Sam Adams twice from himself. It’s only sex! It’s only Democrats!
