Aug. 13, 2011 I was going to title this “Hey Joe Biden “JOBS” is a FOUR Letter Word!” but as one of the terrorist “Hobbits”; out to destroy America as we know it, I decided against that. From the “Boston Globe” website; a report by Robert Weisman entitled: Boston Scientific to lay off 1,200-plus” (subtitle: “Company mum on effect in Mass.”) as a nod to Obama Administration transparency begins: “ Boston Scientific Corp. said yesterday that it plans to eliminate 1,200 to 1,400 jobs worldwide during the next 2 ½ years to free money for new investments, the Natick medical device maker’s second major round of cuts since last year.” The company is mum to Massachusetts because as the report explains: “...Boston Scientific disclosed it was investing $150 million and hiring 1,000 people in China, [due to]... foreign sites with less government oversight and lower costs than the United States.” So Boston Scientific believes America is too regulated and too expensive for business operations. To make the profits they’ve been accustomed to China is apparently a better risk for continued growth without regulatory oversight and workers who don’t need six-figure paychecks and Cadillac health care plans. The report does explain that the Food & Drug Administration has been investigating Boston Scientific for a number of years and there were problems with a couple of the many medical advancements designed by the company but for the greater part the company has been highly profitable and businesslike. The company is looking out for their investors. Boston Scientific has been a valuable and innovative company for medical advancement. It is important to be in an environment that will grow business and right now that isn’t the United States. From the report: “Boston Scientific officials said the latest job cuts, which will involve layoffs and leaving open positions vacant, are part of a broader effort to save between $225 million and $275 million annually. That will enable the company to invest in new products and geographic markets as growth flattens in the United States and other Western countries.” One of Obama’s main White House czars apparently agrees with Boston Scientifics’ China plan. A second report from “The Washington Post” dated July 30th by Thomas J. Worosz Jr. entitled: “ Obama’s man ships out jobs” tells us: “General Electric announced… it was moving the headquarters of its X-ray business from Waukesha, Wis., to China… GE Healthcare’s X-ray business includes the manufacturing of some of the most sophisticated medical diagnostic equipment, including MRI and CT scan machines.” And of course the CEO of GE is Jeffrey R. Immelt “President Obama’s jobs czar” who has been the “tip of the spear” for programs that were supposed to be keeping American jobs in America. But Immelt is the ultimate insider. So he probably knows things not many other business CEO’s know. Perhaps he’s simply getting out before the United States becomes completely engulfed in “Obamageddon”? Now I sympathize with those facing layoff, but that each can now claim food stamps, 99 weeks of unemployment checks and mortgage assistance, losing a job might be a boon to those who haven’t had a vacation in a while. If you’d like to stay employed you might think to call Jeffery Immelt, Barack Hussein Obama or your local representative and ask if they can’t lighten up on the corporate taxes and regulatory oversight that is driving jobs overseas.
