Mar. 31, 2006 The prestigious Capla Kesting Fine Art gallery in Brooklyn's artsy Williamsburg neighborhood is unveiling a new sculpture entitled "Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of ..." What remarkable individual did the artist, Daniel Edwards, choose to immortalize? Abraham Lincoln? Martin Luther King? Mother Teresa? John F. Kennedy? Believe it or not, the sculpture is of Britney Spears giving birth. Some would argue that Britney Spears, and whatever springs from her loins, is a good argument for abortion. The life-size pop tart is nekkid and preggers, crouching face-down on a rug as the baby's head pops out on the opposite end. Usually religious nuts resort to pictures of bloody fetuses to spread the pro-life message, I'd rather look at a photograph of a bloody fetus than at a sculpture of the dim-witted pop princess. Britney giving birth is not exactly Madonna with Child, it was just a few weeks ago that the blond bimbo was speeding down the freeway with her baby bouncing on her lap. What's next, a sculpture of Britney Spears at a Las Vegas Wedding Chapel entitled: Monument to Marriage: The 4th Quickie Marriage of Britney Spears? The gallery is hiring extra security officers for the free exhibit. At least they don't have the audacity to charge admission for this gruesome display.
